Countersinking Service
Introduction to Countersinking
Countersinking is the process of using either a punch and die or a drill bit to widen the mouth of a hole in sheet metal on only one side to better accomodate screw heads that need to be able to be sunken into the material so as not to protrude from the surface. Useful for projects that require attaching various plates or fixtures without welding, while also providing a somewhat aesthetic look. See also our lathe drilling service and tapping service.
Materials Allowed
See our processes thickness guidelines, under the CNC Punching heading.
